Vitamin C. Confusing Not So Confusing.

When I was growing up in the 80's it seemed that vitamin C as an aid during illness was a no brainer. You got sick, you took your vitamin C. Or at least you bulked up on more vitamin C containing foods.
Today, it seems that vitamin C has become controversial.
During the lockdowns of 2020 I posted a paper on Facebook containing some case studies. These case studies were shared to explain that ill patients in Chinese hospitals 'with COVID-19' were given high doses of vitamin C upon arrival and were recovering and leaving the hospital quickly.
My post was removed from Facebook for 'misinformation' with the explanation that there is no proof that vitamin C helps to fight any disease or illness.
My personal argument was that there was no proof that it wasn't helpful, and that trying it, at least, might be worth a shot.
I'm not going to write any further on this here because I want people reading this to check out the medical literature for themselves.
As always, my advice is study up. Read and think for yourself. Research further. And draw some of your own personal, well-educated, conclusions.
(The following list is 'just for starters'. It is by no means 'extensive' - make sure to continue searching after reading the studies below).
