Human Heart, Cosmic Heart
A Doctor's Quest to Understand, Treat, and Prevent Cardiovascular Disease

By: Thomas Cowan, MD
So, you think the heart is a pump, huh?
Not according to Dr. Cowan.
About the time we learn that the heart isn't actually shaped like the nice and neat symmetrical figure known to symbolize love on our Valentine's Day cards, we also learn that the heart is a pump.
Kind of like a battery.
Accepting blood from the lungs, and pushing it through the rest of the body.
Only to do it again and again and again.
Day in. And Day out.
Dr. Cowan, however, says not exactly.
Actually, he says not at all.
How would things change if the heart wasn't a pump?
How would our entire view of the body change?
What is the heart, then, if not a pump?
Ben Greenfield, author of the New York Time's bestseller, Beyond Training, founder and owner of Greenfield Fitness Systems writes in a review:
"If you have a heart and you want to live a long time, you must, must read this book."
I'd have to agree.
Happy reading!
